Zombie Killin’ Carts and Call for PhotoWorks Tips

Started by Josh M · 10 months ago

Recently, SolidWorks thwarted a would-be Zombie attack by launching the SolidWorks Geniuses marketing campaign. First up was the Leonardo Da Vince Self-Powered (Zombie-eliminating) Cart. You saw it, I’m sure, and desired to get your hands on the model so you too could pre ... Continue reading »

  • I'm VERY interested to hear any tips anyone has on Photoworks. I've been struggling the past couple weeks to render a model with a transparent housing. My renders either look completely unrealistic (from not enough reflection/refraction bounces) or don't pass 10% completion after left running for days (then canceling the render crashes Solidworks). Frustrating to say the least.
  • Use a lot of Indirect Illumination, as well as an environment image. Soft shadows always help.
  • Here is my first render with blender :P http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/4228/davincy...
  • Ocell.

my advice (and considering my position, is maybe a dodgy thing to say) is to give HyperShot a try from Bunkspeed..

    and Josh..

Cricket Bats are a prerequisite for zombie slaying..

"can I buy any of you ***** a drink?"
  • yeah Al, I'm was wondering if anyone would pick up that obscure reference and start a conversation about :)

...bash 'em in the head, that seems to work. Ow.

maybe we can all discuss the intricacies of that movie, since not too many are interested in sharing photoworks tips :O
  • I'm a big fan of that team's movies. If you haven't, check out Spaced, a Brit TV series with some very familiar faces...

    "Want anything from the shops?"
  • Man, I'm laughing out loud just thinking about some of the scenes from that movie! - how many ways can you kill a zombie?
  • "Yeah, but Big Al also says dogs can't look up!"

I think I liked Hot Fuzz a little bit more - perhaps I just haven't worn out enough DVD copies of it yet..

but enough with the zombies dude - HELLBOY II is coming..
