You may want to check out Songbird for open-source music goodness.

Rod, the portable version is incredible. I'm not sure very many people realize that, when everything they do can be done from a browser this is going to be the only program they use. The power of that on a thumb drive, or who knows by the time more web apps are being created. If you look at it, the big graphics and cad programs are the last types of heavy apps to be integrated into a browser, but even the graphic/photo editing web apps have made huge advances in the past year and the thinking about the possibilities of CAD on the web are changing. exciting stuff huh.

Re: FireFox 3 Out For Beta

I'm looking forward to the final release. I just recently started using Firefox portable on my 2GB thumb drive to work on my Tiddlywiki files. The new version of Firefox has some superb improvements to make your browsing a lot better.

The best part I love about Firefox is the add-ins, so many to choose from and new ones popping up all the time.

Re: FireFox 3 Out For Beta

I'm usually not a big open-source fan, but the ONE thing that has been great, is Firefox.

My main favorites, autocomplete suggestions in the search engine box, IE Tab add-on (switch rendering engines, great for working on my website), spell-check in form boxes. Awesome stuff.

Some things, though, I'm still quite not ready for making the switch. OpenOffice not ready for primetime for me. Tried Thunderbird, but I'm not ready to give up Outlook just yet (although Thunderbird Portable is great for checking email while at work or traveling). Still torn between Windows Media Player and iTunes.
