When I was doing a lot of graphic work I'd be cutting and pasting things in my sleep. It was annoying.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

Yes, I had been to SW dreams for so many times......it's positive for me though.

Once I had to meet a deadline for a project (as many of us do have to!!), and I came home very upset thinking all abt the project and in my dreams I discovered so many shortcuts for using diff. features, and some ideas of doing things differently......I noted down all those in morning.....And your guess is right.....it helped me a lot to finish that nasty little project on time!!

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

In college i dreamt of the black acad screen many times, i would tell people and they would tell me i was stupid. NOW, i catch myself spinning my left hand like if i was using a 3D controller. I do it when im sleeping and when starting to pass out.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

I wish I could dream killing strikes like that. dang! for me though, it would be the other way around and the calculus would be trying to kill me... which it actually did once in college.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

Never had it but I rarely dream or i rarely remind my dreams.
But I my best idea's are happening in the middle of the night when I am thinking about a problem, so I always have pen and paper in my night closet.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

I used to dream in AutoCAD when I was taking classes with it. Once I was running a high fever and my CAD dream kept zooming in and out really fast. Yeah... I throw up all over the place. I also dreamed in calculus once. I formulated killing strikes for fencing, but when i woke up i couldn't remember the formulas. I doubt they were legit anyway. It was a cool dream though.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

As Ocell says, when I'm under deadline pressure I have such nightmares. But I can have nice 3D dreams too :-)
And like Ocell I try to rotate 2D things on my PC - this could be quite annoying...

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

I too have such dreams. They can be unpleasant, because I don't like to think (or dream) about work when I am supposed to be at home relaxing.

Re: Ask the Reader: Does 3D CAD Make You Dream in 3D?

Yeah, I've been there, usually when I'm on a multi-day modeling binge under a deadline. I also know it's bad when I'm trying to rotate pictures on Flickr with my Spacenav.
