Maybe with 3D modeling instead of touching a screen or waving hands in the air, you could take a piece of clay and mold/shape it, and have the cad model being created at the same time. Or wood, or wax, or your material of choice.
I totally agree with you about the interaction Bruce. I can't imagine using CAD in the air, but everytime I say that I wonder if I'm thinking like the guy that said, the internet is a fad or all anyone will ever need is 640k of memory. I'm like the hands-on approach though, even though I would like to get rid of the piles of paper.
